Nansemond-Suffolk Academy's softball team defeated Isle of Wight Academy 3-2 Wednesday and is now ready for postseason play. It was a close one for the away-from-home Lady Saints, but they were able to close the game with a 3-2 win. That win finishes NSA out with a 16-2 record in the regular season.
IWA started off the game with a 2-0 lead. NSA didn’t get on the scoreboard until the fifth inning, where they rattled off three runs to give them the lead. Delaney Taylor’s home run drove in two runs to help secure the win for the Lady Saints. That is Taylor’s second home run of the year. Emerson Puzey was tasked with pitching duties, and she struck out six batters. She is now 8-2 on the year. Addy Greene went 3-4 with one run.
