Nansemond-Suffolk Academy basketball is ready to roll in the second season under coach Lamont Strothers. After finishing with an 8-13 record last year, in his first year as head coach, Strothers is excited for the start of the season. This team will be without four seniors who were all a part of the rotation for the Saints last year. Strothers has five players coming into the program this year, four of which are eighth-graders.
“We will be a young team at the guard position,” Strothers said. “I’m anxious to see how we are going to do this year. We played well during the summer and the fall. We’ve been practicing hard and had two good scrimmages. The kids are seasoned, but they are young. It’s all about how we make adjustments to keep them improving.” To continue reading the article in The Suffolk News-Herald, please click here.
