Suffolk native and 2014 Nansemond-Suffolk Academy graduate Trey Wren recently tied a course record of 66 in a tournament for the Temple Owls.
Wren is currently in his sophomore season at Temple University and last Monday tied a competitive course record score of 66 in the opening round of the 32nd Annual Georgetown Intercollegiate, where he finished fourth. The tourney was held at The Members Club at Four Streams in Beallsville, Md.
Wren’s score of 66 is the fifth best single round in Temple golf history. The course itself was not anything out of the ordinary for Wren. In his mind, he just relaxed and played well and didn’t make any mistakes. He made a bogey on his second hole and played -6 from there.
