Girls basketball | Hubbard, Birdsong make all-state team

Princess Anne’s Gadiva Hubbard was named to the American Family Insurance All-USA Virginia girls basketball first team. Hubbard, a senior who led the Cavaliers to a third consecutive state championship this past season, averaged 17.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.8 steals per game. She has signed with Minnesota and is the first three-time All-Tidewater Player of the Year.
Nansemond-Suffolk’s Harper Birdsong, a senior who signed with George Washington, was named to the second team.
