The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy field hockey team followed up a home conference win on Monday with another one on Tuesday, a 1-0 victory over Walsingham Academy that capped off the Lady Saints’ 2015 regular season schedule.
“I felt like the girls played awesome,” NSA coach Ashley Skinner said. “They played as a team. They really worked hard. Our passing combinations just picked up as the game progressed. We were able to connect passes all the way down the field, so I’m really excited about that momentum going into the conference tournament next week.”
The game was scoreless in the first half, but freshman Lauren Meyers was able to break through the Lady Trojans’ defense to score an unassisted goal with 17:19 remaining in the second half.
