Financial Aid & Scholarships

Most scholarships for seniors are not available until late winter/spring, although there are a few in the fall. All scholarships will be posted on Naviance as they become available, and a weekly email is sent to seniors, parents and advisors beginning late fall. Please check frequently!

Important Reminders

  • The College Counseling office will mail your entire scholarship application packet, but we need all of your documents at least 5 days before the postmarked date or 10 days before the received by date. You do not need to ask your teachers again for letters. We use the letters that were sent to colleges.
  • Know the deadline: Is it a postmark date or a must be received by date?
  • If you think that you will need financial aid at any time during your college years, apply when you apply to college. The process may seem daunting, but we will help you. College is expensive. For many families, this will be a major part of the application process. Request and read all materials from colleges about the policies and procedures. Note and comply with all deadlines. A missed deadline could prove costly.
  • We will post all scholarships in Naviance and in our weekly email digest.

FAFSA and CSS/Profile

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

You must complete this form even if you do not expect to receive aid from a college.
You cannot receive a federally-backed student loan without this form. You can file the FAFSA online at: www.fafsa.ed.gov afterJanuary 1 each year, and by February 1.

College Scholarship Service Profile (CSS/Profile)

This is a non-government financial aid form. Not all colleges require this form. Check with the schools you want to apply to for the proper forms (some colleges even require their own financial application). Be sure to review financial aid application requirements carefully. You can file the profile online at
https://profileonline.collegeboard.org/prf/index.jsp.

Please note: Some colleges, especially the more selective ones, have their own financial form in addition to the FAFSA or Profile. Call or email the college’s financial aid department to find out what forms are needed, the deadlines, and to request any special application.
