    In the first state poll of the season, the Nansemond-Suffolk Academy girls’ basketball team came in at No. 2. The NSA Lady Saints are currently 9-2 on the season.     Kaleb Brown had 25 points in a Saints win over Norfolk Christian School Thursday night. The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy boys’ basketball team hosted Norfolk Christian for another conference matchup Thursday night. The Saints took a 54-39 win to go to 10-3 on the season.     The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy boys’ basketball team earned a 51-39 win over Peninsula Catholic High School. The Saints took on PCHS to open up conference play. George Pettaway and Kaleb Brown had strong games for the Saints. Pettaway finished with 10 points and ten assists for a double-double while Kaleb Brown added 17 points to go along with seven rebounds.   • Gerehart to be featured artist at NSA show

    When B. Kay Gerehart’s life partner of 27 years, Artie Liles, died last year, she used art as a way to work through her grief. Though Gerehart, 69, started painting later in life, she has accomplished much in a short time and is now the featured artist in Nansemond-Suffolk Academy’s 34th Annual Art Show and Sale, which takes place at the school from Jan. 25 through Feb. 2.   • Lady Saints gear up for conference play

    After spending time in Florida for a holiday tournament, the Lady Saints basketball team is ready for conference play. The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy girls’ basketball team recently came back from Florida, where they went 2-1 in some holiday hoops. After getting off to a slow start in their first game, they were able to get wins over Taft High School out of Ohio and Sullivan Central High School out of Tennessee.
