Suffolk native's wheelchair lacrosse team becomes national champions

Ten years ago, Ryan Beale '07 broke his neck in a car accident. He was a rising lacrosse star and team leader at Lynchburg College, now the University of Lynchburg. He was a junior when the injury left him permanently paralyzed from the chest down. Today, the 30-year-old Suffolk native has found a way to continue playing his favorite sport at an elite level, only in a wheelchair.
