Nansemond-Suffolk Academy wins first state softball title since 1993

Madison Inscoe tossed a complete game Friday in Glen Allen, allowing four hits, and the Saints won their first state title Friday since 1993. “This feels amazing; these girls earned it,” said head coach Brittany Thornburg.
Addy Greene drove in Jessica Chang in the top of the fifth for the lone run. Greene and Chang, who tripled before scoring, had two hits apiece. For the Saints, the win avenged a pair of 1-0 losses to the Gators this season. “We just tried to keep it simple, to see the ball and hit the ball, and we finally got some balls to drop into the holes this time,” Thornburg said.
