We consider it our responsibility to support the school’s mission by providing dedicated personnel and services to ensure a safe and healthy school environment. Our goal is to provide a continuum of care that provides a successful transition from school to home to health provider and back.
The Lisa L. Johnson Health Clinic provides assistance for:
- General illness
- Student medical needs for field trips
- Support for chronic conditions, such as diabetes and allergies
- Coordination with athletic trainer for sports related injuries
- Coordination of emergency services, when necessary
At the main campus, the Lisa L. Johnson Health Clinic is staffed by two full-time nurses. The clinic is located in the middle building (with the Hawks Library, the STEM Innovation Lab and the Cafeteria), just inside the entry hall to the school cafeteria. Clinic hours are from 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily during the school year.
At the Harbour View Campus, our Health Clinic is staffed by an employee trained in emergency medication administration, as certified by Virginia's Department of Social Services as having successfully completed the Board of Nursing (BON) approved training coursework. The clinic is located adjacent to the Harbour View main office.
