Art Show and Sale

The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Art Show and Sale attracts artists and art connoisseurs throughout Hampton Roads. The 10-day show takes place the last week in January through the first week in February.

Featuring original artwork from over 150 local and regional artists, there are affordable options for everyone - from fine art, handcrafted jewelry and pottery to glass art, sculptures and more. Admission is free, and the community is welcome. Proceeds from the Art Show and Sale support Nansemond-Suffolk Academy’s visual and performing arts programs. The show also exposes our students to career opportunities in the arts and inspires them to explore their own creative abilities.

The 40th annual Art Show and Sale is scheduled for January 24, 2026 through February 1, 2026! Online shopping for the Art Show and Sale will be available after hours, starting January 25 through January 31 from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 a.m. Visit nsaartshow.com to view the show!

2026 Featured Artist

Linda Gerek

Linda Gerek of Suffolk, VA will serve as the 2026 Art Show and Sale featured artist.

Linda worked as an art teacher with Virginia Beach City Public Schools for nearly 30 years before she retired and became a full-time artist. As an outdoor enthusiast, she often paints wherever she vacations and travels. Hiking, kayaking and camping all help her absorb what is around her. When she paints, Linda tries to capture and reflect her sense of connectedness with nature. Natural light and its constant changing effect create moments in time that inspire her.

Linda considers her art contemporary realism. She says the subject matter is realistic, but she tries to figure out how to make it more than that. Whether she is painting with oil, acrylic or watercolor, Linda hopes that what she sees and portrays in her work encourages viewers to look with appreciation and gratitude toward nature and see the environment with a fresh perspective.
