Art Show and Sale

The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Art Show and Sale attracts artists and art connoisseurs throughout Hampton Roads. The 10-day show takes place the last week in January through the first week in February.

Featuring original artwork from over 150 local and regional artists, there are affordable options for everyone - from fine art, handcrafted jewelry and pottery to glass art, sculptures and more. Admission is free, and the community is welcome. Proceeds from the Art Show and Sale support Nansemond-Suffolk Academy’s visual and performing arts programs. The show also exposes our students to career opportunities in the arts and inspires them to explore their own creative abilities.

The 39th annual Art Show and Sale is scheduled for January 25, 2025 through February 2, 2025! Online shopping for the Art Show and Sale will be available after hours, starting January 26 through February 1 from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 a.m. Visit nsaartshow.com to view the show!

Featured Artist

Karen Crenshaw

Karen Lee Crenshaw of Jacksonville, NC will be the 2025 Art Show and Sale featured artist.

Karen has been drawing since she was a child. Her lifelong interest in visual arts led her to earn a Master of Fine Arts from The George Washington University. Since 2008, she has participated in dozens of art events across coastal North Carolina and beyond, and has received numerous awards for her work. Karen has taught privately and in public schools. She continues her own training with numerous well-known artists, including John Poon, Michael Shane Neal, Tom Nash and Jermy Sams.

Karen was born in the Midwest and lived in the mountains of West Virginia and Virginia before settling in coastal North Carolina. The marshes, rivers and lakes and the vessels that sail upon them capture her eye, particularly in early morning and late afternoon light. Karen enjoys painting landscapes either in her studio, ArtExposure in Hampstead, NC, or outdoors, where she regularly paints with other artists who share her love of painting in nature.
