We are honored to welcome you and your family to our community and to celebrate our designation as a Virginia Distinguished Purple Star School. We recognize the unique sacrifices and experiences of military families, and we are committed to providing a supportive, inclusive environment where your child can thrive both academically and personally.

Many of our students describe our school as their second home or a second family, and we are dedicated to making sure military-connected students, who make up more than a quarter of our community, feel that same sense of belonging. We celebrate the Month of the Military Child each April, and every November we honor all who have served or who are currently serving in the armed forces during our annual Veterans Day celebration. As you settle into the area, we look forward to partnering with you to ensure a smooth transition and to make our school a place where your family feels truly at home.

Proximity to Military Bases

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy has two locations in Suffolk, Virginia, that are conveniently located near several key military installations. Situated on 100-acres, the Main Campus serves students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12 and features an Innovation Lab, a full-service cafeteria, playgrounds, athletic facilities and more! The Harbour View Campus serves students in pre-kindergarten through grade 3 and allows our youngest students to benefit from the same college preparatory program offered at our Main Campus in an atmosphere close to home.

NSA’s comprehensive transportation network includes six school-day routes and one after-school activity route with predetermined pick-up and drop-off locations, covering areas such as Suffolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Smithfield and Carrollton.

We understand that receiving new orders often means big changes for the whole family, and choosing the right school is an important part of that transition. The Office of Admissions is here to answer questions, share information about our community and guide you through the enrollment process.
