International Students
Nansemond-Suffolk Academy is a premier private school in Suffolk, Virginia, that is known for its challenging academic curriculum and opportunities in STEM, the arts and athletics.
We welcome international students to inquire and apply for admission in grades 9–12. Our mission is to engage, inspire and empower our students to make a difference in the world, and our goal is to enroll students who will benefit from our program and contribute to the school community. Each year, we enroll students from a diverse range of countries.
Applicants are encouraged to apply through one of our partner organizations that can also offer a homestay experience with an American host family if required. The admissions process for international students is consistent with the process for domestic students, which includes the submission of proper documentation relevant to health and immunization records. The Admissions Committee, in addition to core academic performance, considers proven English proficiency, extracurricular involvement and personal interests. Applicants are also asked to submit TOEFL or IELTS scores. Often, the placement organizations require this as well. Please note that Nansemond-Suffolk Academy is not certified for ESL.
