Early on, students learn the meaning of “honor” and respect for self and others. They are encouraged to be compassionate not only in daily activities, but also through active participation in a variety of community service projects throughout the year.
Students are able to take on additional leadership responsibilities by serving as a Saints Ambassador in the Office of Admissions, as a member of the Lower School Student Council Organization (SCO) or the Safety Patrol. Fifth graders are eligible to serve as Saints Ambassadors, and they host student applicants who typically test and “shadow” during the school day. Ambassadors also assist with admissions open houses twice each year. Occasionally, they assist with tours.
Each fourth and fifth grade homeroom elects two representatives to the SCO, who meet to assist as a liaison between students and administration, discuss school activities and organize spirit days as well as service projects for the school and greater community. Members of the Lower School Safety Patrol serve as role models to our younger students, welcoming them in the morning and ensuring that they arrive to class safely.
