We are excited to continue our partnership with Cedar Point Club’s Visiting Artist Gallery.
Now through the end of September, artwork from Suffolk resident Linda Gerek will be on display and for sale at Cedar Point. When her paintings are sold, 35 percent of the proceeds will benefit the NSA Arts Program, and 65 percent will be paid to the artist. In addition to the Visiting Artist Gallery partnership, Nansemond-Suffolk Academy and Cedar Point Club have also partnered to offer a Saints Membership Plan, which offers discounted club membership rates for NSA families. To inquire about the Cedar Point Club Saints Membership Plan or to visit Cedar Point to see Linda's work, please call (757) 238-2275 or visit www.cedarpointclub.com.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
As an outdoor enthusiast, Linda Gerek often paints wherever she vacations and travels. This usually includes some wonderful landscapes and interesting buildings. She tries to capture and reflect her sense of connectedness with nature when she paints. Light and shadow, as well as color and movement, dominate most of her work, communicating the sense of energy that she feels in natural things and the environment.
Nature has always been a great springboard and take-off point in Linda's work. She loves to study and will continue to be a student of nature. As a painter, she has used a variety of mediums such as watercolors, acrylics and oil paints, collage and mixed media. She enjoys them all and has learned from each.
Whether she is painting with oil, acrylic or watercolor, she hopes that what she sees and portrays in her work encourages viewers to look with appreciation and gratitude towards nature and look at the environment with a fresh perspective.
