The Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities (VCIC) is excited to invite students to participate in a new summer program, the Virtual Institute for Belonging and Equity (VIBE).
The free program is open to rising sophomores, juniors and seniors and will be held virtually August 4-6, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. VIBE participants will be led through a series of activities designed to move through a process of awareness to action. These live, virtual workshops will be guided by trained facilitators so the group can explore personal experiences with discrimination and develop conflict resolution skills. Students will leave the program with tools to work toward school and community environments that are free from the distractions of prejudice, stereotypes and bigotry.
Applications are due by June 15. VCIC will select 30 participants to attend the virtual program, and applicants will be notified of their application status on July 1. If you have any questions about VIBE or the application process, please contact Educational Programs Associate Emma Cox at ecox@inclusiveVA.org.
