Saints Together: Homecoming 2022

Saints Together: Homecoming 2022

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy welcomed current families, alumni and friends to the Main Campus Oct. 14-15 for Homecoming.

On Friday morning, students donned their best blue and gold for a day full of fun activities. Several varsity football players greeted Lower School students at the carpool loop with a smile. Once the first bell rang, Upper School students went to spread some Saints cheer in Middle and Lower School classrooms. Older students helped younger students create spirited signs for the football game against Norfolk Academy later that night. Then, everyone headed to the Thomas W. Johnson Gymnasium in the Beazley Center for a pep rally. All of the fall sports teams were recognized, and we crowned our Homecoming King, Max Blust '23, and Homecoming Prince, Adi Barot '24. Upper School and Middle School students then headed outside to the Arthur E. Jones Athletic Field for the annual break food sale and powder puff football game.

That night, students and their families returned to the Main Campus for the Varsity Football game against Norfolk Academy. Before kickoff, senior members of the Marching Band, Color Guard, Cross Country Team, Cheerleading Team and the Varsity Football Team were recognized as they walked to center field, accompanied by their loved ones. Afterward, the Marching Saints played the National Anthem and the Saints took the field. Between the first and second quarter, we recognized recent VISAA Division II state championship teams, including the 2022 Varsity Golf Team, 2022 Varsity Softball Team and 2021 Varsity Volleyball Team. At halftime, fans enjoyed a lively performance from the Marching Saints, and alumni families who currently have a student enrolled in kindergarten were recognized. Afterward, we welcomed our Homecoming Court to the field, and we crowned Lily Petry '24 Homecoming Princess and Shannon Connor '23 Homecoming Queen.

On Saturday, the Saints Spirit Committee held Saints Fest at the Arthur E. Jones Athletic Field. Lower School students enjoyed a fun run, crafts, a petting zoo, inflatables, yard games, concessions and more. Special thanks to the committee members for coordinating such a fun event!

Please enjoy our gallery of nearly 450 photos from the weekend. It was so wonderful to see all our Saints together again!
