NSA Artists Shine in Suffolk Art League's Exhibit of Excellence

Exhibit of Excellence 2026

The Suffolk Art League's annual Exhibit of Excellence showcases the strength of NSA's visual arts program, with Saints students contributing more than 34 percent of this year's selected pieces.

Students at Suffolk high schools in grades 9 through 12 are eligible to enter the annual juried exhibit. This year, 244 entries were submitted, and 94 were selected for the show. 32 of those pieces were from NSA students.

Artist and educator John Tobin Jr. served as this year's juror. He selected all of the artwork for the exhibit and awarded prizes, including the four that went to NSA students.

Vance Byars '27

Vance Byars '27 won third place for his piece, titled "Red Moon."

Aubri Walker '26 and Christina Wallace '27

Haley Scribner '26, Aubri Walker '26 and Christina Wallace '27 all earned juror's choice awards.

"Some of the winning entries stood out immediately: some for the mastery of the medium, message or technical skill," said John in his juror's statement. "I wanted to choose the best artwork from a variety of media to ensure that they were represented."

The Exhibit of Excellence 2026 Suffolk Student Art Exhibit will be on display at the Suffolk Art Gallery at 118 Bosley Ave. through February 27.
