Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Receives AP Honor Roll Recognition

AP Gold Honor Roll

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy is celebrating the achievements of its students, whose participation in and performance on AP Exams have led to the school receiving special recognition.

For the 2024-2025 school year, NSA received the AP School Honor Roll Gold Award. NSA was one of just over a thousand schools in the country to receive the AP School Honor Roll Gold Award, representing just 7% of eligible schools.

The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results for students while broadening access. Schools can earn a bronze, silver, gold or platinum recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit and maximizing college readiness.

To qualify for the AP School Honor Roll, 40% or more of the most recent graduating class must have taken at least one AP Exam during high school, 25% or more of the most recent graduating class must have scored a 3 or higher on at least one AP Exam in high school and 2% or more of the most recent graduating class must have taken five or more AP Exams in high school. During the 2024-2025 academic year, 73% of graduating students had experienced at least one AP Exam during high school, 67% earned college credit by scoring a 3 or higher on at least one AP Exam in high school and 30% had taken five or more AP Exams in high school.

Congratulations to our students for their accomplishments! Special thanks to our AP coordinator and director of college counseling, Mary Hunter Hardison '01, for her guidance and commitment to preparing our Saints for life after NSA.
