Haitian Awareness Club Continues to Make a Difference

Haitian Awareness Club Members Collecting T-shirts
Despite the challenges this year, members of the Upper School’s Haitian Awareness Club were determined to continue to help the Maison Fortune Orphanage Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports and educates children at the Maison Fortune Orphanage in Hinche, Haiti.

Club members collected more than 450 T-shirts to send to the children and also donated $500 to the foundation, which depends on generous donations to provide food, shelter, clothing and education to more than 300 children.

“This is my third year in the Haitian Awareness Club, and I am so honored to be able to support such a worthy cause as the Maison Fortune Orphanage. As one of the club leaders this year, it was a challenge to come up with ways to fundraise, but with help from the Advancement Office, we have found ways to continue to support Maison Fortune. I am so impressed that our small club was able to donate $500 and 450 T-shirts to the orphanage in March (combined from the past two years)! Everyone at NSA has been blessed with so many excellent talents, resources and opportunities, and I am so glad we were still able to share those this year!”  – Dori Mitchell '22

Kudos to the Haitian Awareness Club for continuing to make a difference!
