Each spring, NSA's Upper School students turn the Thomas W. Johnson Gymnasium in the Beazley Center into a gallery space for Portfolio, our annual student art and photography show. This year's exhibit featured nearly 900 pieces that reflect the depth and range of student talent.
Special thanks to Linda Gerek and Chris Jeanguenat for serving as jurors this year. Linda is an award-winning artist, with her paintings featured in personal and corporate collections across the country. She served as the featured artist for NSA's 2026 Art Show and Sale and has participated in other various local art shows. She is also a retired art teacher with a degree in art and art education. Linda works as a professional artist and can often be found substitute teaching in NSA's Lower School. Chris is an award-winning artist, known for her expressive, storytelling style. She studied art at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Her work has been exhibited widely across Virginia, including solo shows at the Norfolk Botanical Garden and exhibitions at the Rawls Museum Arts, the Bay School Community Arts Center, Virginia public libraries and other regional venues. She serves as exhibitions chair for the Suffolk Art League and has been a judge for the Neptune Arts Festival student competition and a juror for the Chesapeake Bay Association Arts Festival.
