Griffin Duggan '21 is joining other top student-athletes and students associated with Virginia Tech Athletics, including student athletic trainers, student managers and student video assistants, in being named to the university's 2022 All-Academic Team.
Griffin, who is a redshirt sophomore offensive lineman for Tech's football team, earned the highest cumulative grade point average among his teammates during the 2022 calendar year. Those named to the 2022 All-Academic Team were recognized during a banquet on April 10, which featured a welcome address from director of athletics Whit Babcock. Other students were also honored at the event as 2022 Scholar-Athletes for earning a 4.0 GPA during the 2022 calendar year.
Before heading to Tech, Griffin played offensive and defensive tackle for the Saints. He was rated as a three-star recruit by 247Sports Composite, where he was ranked as the 144th best offensive tackle prospect in the country and 48th best player in Virginia. He chose the Hokies over the University of Maryland, East Carolina University and Old Dominion University.
Griffin is currently majoring in public relations at Tech. Congratulations, Griffin!
