The Class of 2009 and Their Parents

Mrs. Diane Capron, Yearbook Adviser
Yearbook Production Classes
Senior Formal Pictures

After 37 years in education, I will be retiring at the end of this school year. The new Yearbook Adviser will be Mrs. Ronda Bailey, who is very excited to begin this undertaking and is looking forward to working with the senior class of 2009.

It has been school policy since 1995 to have all formal senior pictures taken by Prestige, a division of Lifetouch School Photography. In addition, these same photos will represent the Senior Class in the local newspapers at the time of graduation and in the hallway composite of each class.

Since this policy has been in effect, seniors have voiced overall enthusiasm for the yearbook and have been happy with their section. I also know it has made the senior yearbook staff much happier and less hectic during their production time.

Without a formal picture taken by Prestige, seniors will not be allowed to appear in the alphabetized Senior Class section, not only in the yearbook, but also in the hall composite and newspaper coverage. We must maintain one of the main reasons we elected to enforce this policy, to keep everything consistent and professional looking.

This year’s sitting date is Friday, August 1 in the school cafeteria. An appointment time will be sent to you from Prestige prior to this date along with a fee list. All students should keep the dress code in mind when arriving for formal pictures. That is, boys should not have any facial hair or piercings and girls should have only ear piercings.

Approximately three weeks after your sitting, you will receive proofs from Lifetouch, along with instructions for selecting your yearbook pose. This step is very important; please do not forget to select the pose you would like to appear in the yearbook according to the proof instructions. If, after viewing the proofs, you would like to have your photos retaken, you may do so on the make-up day of September 10, by scheduling through Mrs. Bailey. DO NOT RETURN YOUR PROOFS TO LIFETOUCH if you intend to have your photos retaken; you will have to turn them in on the day of the retakes.

If you are unable to have your portraits taken on August 1, it is your responsibility to reschedule with Lifetouch at their studio, or see Mrs. Bailey to have make-up pictures taken at school during study halls and lunch on September 10. Students who would like to have their pictures taken at this time must request through Mrs. Bailey to be put on the schedule. Students having their photos taken for the first time on September 10 must pay $20 at the time of the photo.

All seniors must have their photo taken by Lifetouch, either at school on August 1, at school on September 10, or at the Lifetouch studio no later than September 10, in order to appear in the yearbook.

The yearbook staff looks forward to working with the Class of 2009 in the upcoming school year.
