Summer Reading 2008 - English III, 10th grade

Required Book: Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird.

Lee’s only novel is a tale of a lawyer and his family who struggle with racial conflict in a Southern town.

Assessment: Students will take a test following class discussion within the first week of school. Students will also write an essay.

Books to be read during the year:
Julius Caesar – William Shakespeare (in the text book)
Antigone—Sophocles (in the text book)
1984 – George Orwell
Night—Elie Wiesel

Paperbacks can be purchased from the Spirit Shop at the beginning of the year or can be bought from a previous student or at the Used Book Sale.
