United States History Summer Reading 2008US History Bloggin InstructionsUS History Summer Reading Project 2008 The book Generation Me has mature themes that some parents may find objectionable. You are going to read Generation Me and post your review on a blog. Blogging is easy and I have detailed instructions in this package. To make sure that you can blog, you must post a blog for me immediately. The post should have 2 things: a message saying "I did it." And your first name and last initial. This is due by Friday, May ___ and is worth 5 points. If you have any problems, you can see me or Mrs. O'Berry in the library and we will help you. You must do this initial posting this week so that I can be sure that everyone knows how to post on the Blog.
Summer Reading: Generation Me by Jean M. Twenge, Ph.D. Students will read the book and write a brief review (no fewer than 200 words) using the rubric below. The review will be posted on a blog. I have created a blog for our summer reading project. A blog is an online journal. Blogging is the act of journaling. The post is the actual writing. You will be required to post (write) on the blog (journal). The blog must be posted by Monday, August 11th. Any student who has difficulty with this deadline should contact me at: You will also need to read the blog and make a comment on another classmate's review. These comments should be at least 50 words long and contain a response to the opinions voiced on the blog. These comments should be posted on the blog by Monday, August 18th Students are reminded that all comments should be pertinent, appropriate and respectful of other classmate's opinions. Deadlines are set and any student that does not complete the assignment on time will lose 20 points per day. If you will not be able to meet these deadlines, you must contact me BEFORE the due date to get an extension. The review about the book should contain the following:
