While other adults in the community will be involved in the academic, athletic, and academy life of each student, the advisor, more than any other adult, is aware of how a student is doing in the context of the Nansemond-Suffolk experience. And this is why the advisor will periodically contact the student’s parents to share the student’s growth and progress. 

Every NSA student is assigned an advisor, and we see the advisor-advisee relationship as one of the most important adult-student relationship at Nansemond-Suffolk Academy. This faculty member will help guide the student during their matriculation. While our Guidance Counselors will help plan a program of studies, the advisor will work closely with the student to ensure that issues that arise in the school program are addressed promptly.
