Immigration Celebration - Coming to America!

Please join us for an Immigration Celebration on Wednesday, March 29th, from 1;30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the multipurpose room of the Middle School. Our sixth grade students have worked diligently preparing presentations to share. Come see what they have learned.

Chorus Students Present A Cabaret Show!

The Middle School Chorus students will present group numbers with choreography, solos, duets and trios of Broadway songs and movie musicial songs on Thursday, February 23rd, at 7:00 pm in the Nancy Russell Auditorium. It will be a GREAT night of entertainment! Please come out and support our Singing Saints! We look forward to seeing you there!

Middle School News Flash!

Seventh grader, Delaney Taylor, will be Head of Middle School on Wednesday, February 22nd. Delaney has declared tomorrow to be a "Dress Down" day in the Middle School. Students in the Middle School may wear school appropriate blue jeans with appropriate t-shirts or sweatshirts. Shirts must be tucked in and belts are required. We wish Delaney a Happy Birthday as well! We hope you enjoy your special day!

SAVE THE DATE - Middle School Dance!

Are you ready for a dance? All of the Middle School students are invited to a spring dance on Friday, March 23rd, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. in the Camp Gym. DJ's, Matt and Travis, will provide the great music. All students are asked to bring a donation of $5.00 to enter the dance for the evening. All of the money will be donated to the eighth grade class to start their junior/senior prom fund. Food will be provided for the evening. Students may wear school appropriate jeans and t-shirts! Let the good times roll! It is going to be FUN! See you there!












Jeans and Jerseys This Friday!

Are you ready for the Super Bowl? Middle School students may wear school appropriate blue jeans, jerseys, and t-shirts this coming Friday. Students may wear a t-shirt on Friday without a jersey. All messages and designs on shirts must be school appropriate. It is going to be a FUN day! Have a great weekend!

Report Cards Issued Today!

Middle School Report Cards went home today, Monday, January 23rd. It is a good time to set goals for the remainder of the school year! As the work becomes increasingly more difficult, challenge yourself to review your notes and the material daily. Don't forget to do your homework each night! Please see your teachers if you need any help! Let's make the third grading period the BEST EVER!

Geography Bee Winners!

Congratulations to Geography Bee winner Kaylee Moore (pictured on the right) and runner-up Austin Hardee (left), both in the sixth grade, for competing in the National Geographic Society Competition. Way to go Saints! Kaylee will be completing a written test to attempt to qualify for the state level competition. Good luck Kaylee! 

Time for Forensics Sixth Grade!

It is time for Forensics! What is Forensics? It is a competition that spans the areas of public speaking, acting, reading and interpretation. Participants in the competition are judged on an individual basis. Auditions for interested sixth grade students will be held on Wednesday, January 18th, and Thursday, January 19th, after school in the Lower School Library. Students are asked to bring their own selections/materials for the audition. The categories are as follows:
Prose, Poetry, Oratory, and Storytelling. Auditions will finish each day by 4:30 p.m. in the afternoon. The team will be comprised of students in the fourth through sixth grades. We are looking forward to the auditions. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email the Forensic coaches - Kim Cowen, Shari Grandy, Diane Saunders, and Ruth Emmons.

Exciting news from the Middle School! Congratulations to seventh graders, Allie Wilburn (left) and Chelsie Sherwood (right), for being selected by audition from choral students across the state to participate in the Middle School Honors Choir for the state of Virginia. The concert will be held in April in Lynchburg, VA. Way to go singing SAINTS!

Congratulations Spelling Bee Winners!

Congratulations to all the Spelling Bee participants in the Middle School competition that was held this past Monday, January 9, 2012. We are very proud of our top three winners...First Place- Anne Barden Spady (seventh grade), Second Place -Georgie Gaines(sixth grade), and Third Place -Dharav Barot (sixth grade). Anne Barden will represent our school in the 2012 Virginian-Pilot Spelling Bee LIVE broadcast on WHRO on Saturday, Feb. 11th. The champion of The Virginian-Pilot Spelling Bee will win an expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C. to compete in the 2012 Scripps National Spelling Bee in the spring. Good Luck Anne Barden!
