Art Show & Sale

Art Show and Sale

The 22nd Annual Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Art Show and Sale was a tremendous success! The show, co-chaired by Jodi Browne and Tonya Jones, ran very smoothly with the help of many hard-working and dedicated volunteers. The 2008 Honorary Chairman, Nancy A. Dempsey, delighted us all at the Sponsors’ reception with her lighthearted stories and served as a charming ambassador for NSA. She sold an impressive thirty-three pieces of work during our show.

Total sales from the eight-day event reached $110,440, which will contribute $45,000 to the Academy’s Fine Arts Program and the Endowment Fund. One of the main drivers to the success of the Art Show & Sale each year is sponsorship support. While thirty-five percent of the sales of artwork come back to NSA during the course of the show, 100% of our sponsorship donations come back to the school. Our total number of sponsors increased dramatically this year from 81 sponsors in 2007 to 110 sponsors in 2008. The sponsors’ donations contributed $19,650 to our show before the doors of the show even opened and we are truly grateful for their support.

The NSA Art Show and Sale is held each year during the last week in January through the first week in February. This show and sale is lead by the dedicated chairman, committee and volunteers. NSA is truly thankful for the dedication and continued support shown from our tremendous volunteer efforts.
