Tuition and Fees

Tuition schedule for the 2012-13 academic year:

(Please note: Re-enrollment contracts are due to the Admissions Office on or before Feb. 24.)

Upper School (Grades 9 – 12)	$14,140	Per school year – (8:00 am to 3:00 pm)
Middle School (Grades 6 – 8)	$12,640	Per school year – (8:00 am to 3:00 pm)
Lower School (Grades K – 5)	$11,850	Per school year – (8:00 am to 3:00 pm)
Early School (PreKindergarten 3 and 4)	$7,465	5 days a week – (8:30 am to 11:45 am)

Affording an Independent School Education

An ongoing U.S. Department of Education Study has revealed that, “compared with their peers in public schools, students in independent schools watch less television, achieve the highest reading proficiency level, are more engaged with homework, extracurricular activities and athletics, take more advanced coursework and have higher aspirations for post-secondary study.” These are strengths of many of our peer schools that are members of the National Association of Independent Schools and accredited by the Virginia Association of Independent Schools.

At Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, our curriculum offers enormous opportunities that many schools cannot provide. We take great pride in cultivating an enriched and robust college preparatory program that has made NSA a leading PK-12 school in Hampton Roads. We are consistently the home of the region’s National Merit Scholars, award-winning artists and successful student-athletics. Our students are able to choose the college of their choice from the most selective colleges in world – for our students have a global outlook that is their future. Recently in a national survey, the majority of parents of school-age students in public school said they would enroll their child in an independent school if they could afford to do so. However, most families interested in independent schools never investigate the option due to concerns regarding affordability. Our Admission team will work with interested families to not only demonstrate the benefits of an independent school education – but to recognize the profound advantages that such an education affords a child (and a family) for a lifetime.

Family Tuition Discounts
(enrolled within the same family at the same time)
3rd child, $1,000 discount;
4th child, $1,500 discount

Methods of Payment:

The following payment options are provided:

Annual Plan
Payment of entire tuition/charges due on or before August 1st, 2012.

Two-Payment Plan; +$200 per year
Payment of 1⁄2 of entire tuition/charges is due on or before August 1st, 2012 with remainder paid by January 1st, 2013.
There is a $100 fee added to each payment for participation in this plan.

Ten Payment Automatic-Debit Plan; +$250 per year
Payment of tuition/charges may be made in (10) monthly installments (August 2012 through May 2013), which are au-
tomatically debited from individual bank accounts on the 17th of the month. There is a $25 fee added to each payment
for participation in this plan.
