Colonial Celebration

posted Feb 10, 2012 8:47 AM by Ashley Greene
Fourth Grade is celebrating our colonial heritage today as they enjoy colonial crafts and games and learn how to make butter and bread as the colonists did. Dressed in colonial finery, students carry baskets as they move from room to room to participate in hands-on activities that include weaving, making bread and butter, tablet writing, colonial bowling and hoop toss and creating tin-punch art. Students are putting their recent colonial studies to great use as they rotate from station to station and experience what it was like to be a child in colonial times. At left, fourth graders Anna Paisley Gray, Camryn King, Sarah Meyers and Ellie Blount enjoy colonial bread making with parent volunteers.
